Fall Flavours for Your Kitty

Comfort foods are on the top of your menu these days and you’re wondering how you can give your cat a special seasonal treat too. At Snappy Tom, we have some wonderfully savoury flavours your cat will love and with a little extra effort, you can whip up something special for your furry friend. Here are some of our tops picks for fall. Bon appetite!

  1. Snappy Tom Lites Tuna with Pumpkin – Not only is pumpkin a delicious vegetable for the season, it’s also healthy for your cat. The extra fiber in pumpkin may help pets who are prone to constipation or diarrhea. Pumpkin is also rich in vitamins, minerals and will provide extra hydration for your cat.

  2. Snappy Tom Lites Chicken with Vegetable – This food combination will soothe your cat like a warm cup of chicken noodle soup on a brisk fall day. With pumpkin and carrots in the mix, your cat will love the extra crunch this combo offers and will enjoy the health benefits of beta-carotene, which can provide improved skin and eye health.

  3. Snappy Tom Ultimates Tuna and Barramundi – You know your cat loves tuna but the addition of Barramundi to this complete meal will offer extra flavour for your cat. Barramundi is similar to snapper, grouper or sole but like salmon, adds loads of omega-3s which have anti-inflammatory properties, making them a great choice for cats who have allergies or suffer from dry skin or hotspots. Omega-3 rich foods can also help improve any cats coat and reduce shedding.

D.I.Y Recipes to Try: If you’re feeling that inner chef ready to emerge, here’s a homemade treat you can whip that your cat will be sure to love! 1. Snappy Tom Lites Tuna & Apple Delights. Preheat oven to 350°. Peel and core one small apple. In a food processor add half the apple, one can Snappy Tom Lites Tuna (undrained), 1 cup of oat flour, one egg, and 1 tablespoon dried catnip. Process all ingredients to create a smooth, thick dough. Form dough into 1/4- teaspoon-size balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Slightly flatten each ball. If the dough is too sticky add 1-2 more tablespoons of oat flour until it’s at the right consistency. Cook for 15 – 20 minutes until golden and crisp. *Cool completely before serving. Store in air-tight container up to 5 days, or freeze.
